How we started

Ontario, 2009. One idea, two people building it.

Khalid Kadrie Craig Hooghiem

Vicimus started in Ontario in 2009, when Khalid Kadrie founded the company on a read of the dealership business that turned out to be right: dealers already had the customer data to build real retention programs, and none of the tools to act on it systematically. He'd spent years around the automotive side of the business before that, and built Vicimus to close that gap.

Craig Hooghiem was one of the first people in the building, and spent the years since turning that idea into software — starting with what became Bumper, and building out the engineering behind everything that followed it.

What started as one product for one problem grew into the full suite Vicimus runs today, and the two of them into a six-person leadership team working both sides of the US/Canada border. Between everyone on this page, that's a lot of accumulated years of dealership, automotive and retention-marketing experience — most of it earned before Vicimus, working in and around the stores this platform now serves.

Why it matters

Leadership differentiators.

01

Frontline Dealership DNA

Our leadership spent years inside dealership showrooms, service drives, and BDCs before building Vicimus. Every product decision is rooted in real-world retail reality, not abstract theory.

02

Dual-Market Precision

With active leadership steering operations across both Canada and the US, we understand the specific nuances, vendor ecosystems, and compliance requirements unique to each border.

03

Product-Builder Continuity

The engineers and architects who wrote the initial code for Bumper still guide our technical roadmap today, ensuring stability, rapid iteration, and zero tech bloat.

04

True Account-Level Accountability

Leadership remains directly accessible and accountable to store performance, enforcing strict workload caps across the organization so quality never yields to volume.
