Gurj Gill

Director of Sales, West & OEM Relations

Gurj Gill, on the surface, is an accomplished leader in the automotive landscape bringing 20 plus years of industry experience. Gurj is excited to join Vicimus and take on challenging roles as Director of Sales and OEM Relationship Manager. He has recently held positions as National Sales Manager and Manager of Field Operations with one of North America’s leading data mining solutions based out of Irvine, California.

About Gurj Gill

Gurj entered the automotive space in 1996 in his hometown of Prince George, BC as a salesperson at a local Chrysler dealership.

After 4 years, he moved downtown to the local Honda store where he accepted the role of Finance and Insurance Manager. Gurj spent 3 years as the Finance Manager and then accepted the role of General Sales Manager. There he led the sales team and created processes to look out for the best interest of customers while increasing the dealership’s bottom line. CSI was very important to him and under Gurj’s leadership the CSI score was consistently in top 5% in the country year after year

In 2011, Gurj and family relocated to Vancouver where he accepted the position of Sales Manager at Carter Honda located in downtown Vancouver. During the course of that year Gurj was a member of the Honda Canada Pacific Zone Advertising Steering Committee. The following year Gurj opened his own pre owned dealership which was a dream of his for a number of years.

After a year Gurj and his business partner sold their dealership and he moved into the vendor world. His role was to bring AutoAlert, a US based data mining company into the Western Canadian market. In this postion he created many relationships with Auto Groups and OEM showcasing a technology that was not being used at a high level at dealerships in Canada. Gurj was on an upward trajectory moving from Regional Manager, Manager of Field Operations to National Sales Manager.

Where do you see the future of the industry heading.

The industry is leaning more and more towards tech companies that can help drive traffic to dealership showrooms. The front door at dealerships do not open at the volumes it did a few years ago. Products like Bumper help dealers communicate intelligently with their clients at the right time.

Gurj is one of those rare leaders who turn initiative and vision into action. His unique ability to turn a 30,000 feet view of an organization into an actionable plan is what moves him from being a company representative to a valuable member of your operation.

WHAT DOES YOUR DEPARTMENT BRING TO VICIMUS? HOW DOES IT INTEGRATE?

The Sales department will take Vicimus technologies and help educate dealerships that there is a better way. “We can show you how to better engage with your customers.
