Elia is a very analytically driven finance professional. His background in mathematics and accounting brings a very unique approach to his finance role. Elia has a broad portfolio of financial expertise, such as, but not limited to CND/US taxation, Audit & Assurance, Financial Reporting, Financial Planning, M&A and Financial Modelling. Elia has an Honours Bachelors of Mathematics (Finance) and Chartered Accountancy from the University of Waterloo and holds a Chartered Professional Accountant designation in the province of Ontario.
Elia started his career in public practice as an associate at MNP LLP. He started in taxation where he was working closely with the partner in both Canadian & US tax matters. Elia then transitioned his focus to audit/assurance for public companies – where his industry focus were junior mining, technology and financial services.
Shortly after obtaining his CPA designation, he joined a top tier gold mining producer – Yamana Gold – as a Senior Financial Analyst. His team at Yamana was considered the jack of all trades. He was involved in management reporting, external reporting, financial planning & analysis, and an ERP implementation.
Elia entered the automotive-tech world when joining Audatex Canada – software solutions leader in claims data solutions to the Canadian insurance and collision repair industry – as their Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis. His role then expanded to become the organization’s Finance Business Leader where he became a strategic partner to both the Managing Director and the global CFOO. One of Elia’s biggest accomplishments was developing a robust sales pipeline process, along with various embedded sales strategies, which identified revenue streams for organic growth and helped the company achieve its financial goals. This process was noted by the global CFOO and asked to be mentored in a number of startup regions across the company.
Being deeply integrated in the sales unit, Elia worked on a number of contract proposals ranging to up to $6mm with a cumulative total contract value of over $65mm.

With the introductions of electric cars, self driving cars and the new wave of ridesharing companies emerging, the automobile industry is currently in a very pivotal transition phase. As these initiatives gain popularity, I see the automobile industry potentially experiencing a big shift in its automobile sales trends. My role, with the help of analytical tools and modelling, is to help identify these trends and act on capitalizing on opportunities.
Finance professionals are notouriosly known as risk-averse and calculated individuals. I will work with the data and financials, align them to the goals of the company and lead conclusions based on the most preditable outcome.
